Onstar in 2004 and prior year trucks (including mine) is going to be useless as of January 1, 2008, when the cellular networks go all digital. 2005 was the first model year when digital cell units were used by OnStar. I'd say just pull the antenna, there's no reason to have it at this point. From the roof I sealed around the exposed metal housing with a silicone sealer. Then attached the fin's antenna to the exposed base. I'm not sure this matters. It works fine without the mast. Now the fin just goes over the base. It has it's own sealer.
