Webb13 dec. 2014 · It's by design to achieve the scope's intended purpose and has nothing to do with model series (SHV vs NXS) alone, i.e., the 3.5-15x50 F1 NXS only have 3.15" (but not sure if this is at max magnification or a typo on the NF site). I too would have like to see the SHV with better eye relief, esp., for the high recoiling rifles. Good luck!
