How does bunching occur in a reflex klystron
WebJan 5, 2024 · A klystron amplifier uses different cavities which control the electric field around the axis of the tube. A grid is placed in the middle of these cavities to allow the electrons to flow. The first cavity together with the coupling device is termed as a ‘Buncher’. WebThis is the Reflex Klystron Oscillator, which will now be described. The Reflex Klystron Oscillator is a low-power, low-efficiency microwave oscillator, illustrated schematically in Figure 11-8. It has an electron gun similar to that of the multicavity klystron but smaller. Because the device is short, the beam does not require focusing.

WebJan 11, 2013 · How does bunching occur in a reflex klystron? Ans. A reference electron passing the gap when the gap voltage is zero travels with no change in velocity. An … WebThe faster electrons catch up with the slower electrons and bunching occurs. The electron- beam bunching already starts at the beginning of the helix and reaches its highest expression on the end of the helix. The electron bunches in the beam give up energy to the wire of the slow wave structure. They repel the electrons in the wire and ...
WebA simple way to produce a bunched beam is to pass a continuous beam through a chopper, where the beam is deflected across a narrow slit or a system of slits, resulting in a pulsed beam behind the slit. The chopper includes an RF cavity excited like the buncher cavity but with the beam port offset by a distance from the cavity axis. WebBunching. The velocity bunching modulation transfer function (MTF) is the dominant component of the linear MTF for the ocean waves with an azimuth wave number (kx). ...
