WebIt sounds backwards, but the amount of pixels in a 720p canvas divide evenly into a 1440p canvas, unlike 1080p. Because of this, some people say 720 looks better on a 2k panel than 1080 does. It makes sense since there is no stretching of pixels. Running at a non native resolution isn't always perfect though. Specially at 1440p as it's not equally divisible into 4k. It's not a major issue.
